Get Easy Volume 1 ( Tempo 525 617) and Volume 2 (Tempo 525 618)

From our friends a Tempo Records in Germany come these two rather interesting collections. Volume 1 contains "old school" masters such as Walter Wanderley, Henry Mancini, The Sandpipers, Martin Denny, and more. Volume 2 chooses to spot light the "new garde" with such favorites as Pizzicato Five, Combustible Edison, The Mike Flowers Pops and Corduroy. Purists will surely favor the first volume, but don't let prejudice keep you from the second. Vik did not think he would be very impressed either (what with such unlikely choices as Swing Out Sister and Laura Fygi), but it really does work. Starting with the base of Volume 1, the listener can easily appreciate how the new artists are not only continuing the tradition but adding to it.
