A swinging Job Can Be A Double Edged Sword

Vik was chatting with Cal Zone about the Johnny Carson/Rat Pack program at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York when Howard related the following...

I worked at this Museum (temping between jobs) for a short time in 1986 when it was still called the 'Museum of Broadcasting'.

Cool gig...got to meet Sid Caeser and the actress who played Trixie on the Honeymooners(name escapes me now). Also spoke to Mclean Stevenson (wished him a merry Xmas!), Cousin Bruce(ie) Morrow (called him cousin!) and Walter Cronkite (stuttered!)

Worked in various places including 'the stacks' where I spent dozens of hours viewing classic & rare television footage. I've seen every existing piece of video Ernie Kovacs ever made twice!

The downside (Clockwork Orange Syndrome) was a three day assignement I call: Bullwinkle From Hell. Visitors from Minnesota had made special arrangements with the museum to view every episode of Rocky & Bulwinkle. Evidently they were doing research for a board game. I was the guy they chose to run the tapes. By the third day of viewing I was curled up in a fetal positition on the floor, blubbering 'Watch me pull a rabbit from my hat' and 'Hokey Smokes!' I cringe to this day.
