Mondays. No one seems to like Mondays. Vik's gives you a reason
to survive that first day of the week with a night of exotica. Grab that
Hawaiian shirt. Find your tiki mug. And prepare yourself for Max the Bartender's
Mai Tai 3000. Every Monday provides a sonic trip to exotic lands
and all the bamboo umbrellas you can carry.
Nothing like an excellent pop song. It will stick in your head...follow
you for days...and eventually drive you insane! Vik loves pop, both old
and new, and dedicates Tuesdays to the sweet sounds of old and the new
sounds of now. Sometimes Euro, sometimes not, always a delicious emotional
boost after a long day.
Perhaps you are a part of the Jet Set,
perhaps not. This swinging sound cannot be contained on within the boundaries
of the tiny U.S. of A. and Wednesdays will prove that. Vik's Bandstand
brings you a global round up of the internationally hip. From Japan to
Sweden, Germany to Sinapore...go global without taking your passport.
The international flavor continues on Thursdays as Vik takes
the night off and puts Henri in charge. Without a moments hesitation,
Henri decided Thursdays would be Festival Francais. The sounds of
Gainsbourgh, Longet, Gall, Bardot, Lai and more waft through a haze of
Gitanes smoke and sneering attitude. To be an American In Paris may be
easy, but only the truly suave can claim entrance to Henri's celebration
of joie de vivre.
Friday night kicks off the weekend with The Swank Collective.
Musical mixology takes the same skill as cocktail mixology. Blend the parts
wrong, and the whole thing ends up a dreadful mess. Tonight Vik presents
the finest in sonic cocktails, blended brilliantly with no harsh aftertaste
or morning after hangover.
You say this whole swank thing has no future? Saturdays will
prove you wrong as Vik grabs his crystal ball presents the future of lounging.
Taking abit of the past, throwing it into the technology of today and serving
up a solid slice of tomorrow, trippy-ambient-techno-swank for the cocktail
party at the Jetson's.
Club Bamboo takes over Vik's on Sunday with the new school hipster-beatnik-cocktail-jazz crowd descending in their black turtlenecks and vintage clothing. Could be beat poetry with cime-jazz. Could be big band from a 23 year old. Could
be just about anything. Sundays bring you the finest in the new garde of the Swank Generation. Sit back, relax and enjoy the swinging sounds of the cats and kittens keeping the sound alive.
