Born Dino Crocetti on June 7, 1917, Dean Martin can certainly be called one of the first truly multi-media stars. He succeeded in films (musicals, dramas, westerns and comedies), television, records and concerts. His relaxed singing style, swank playboy image and good looks rocketed him to megastardom throughout the '50s and '60s. he has become the epitome of the bachelor's bachelor. His teaming with Jerry Lewis in the early '50s produced some of America's best film comedy. After their split, Martin would continue in films as romantic leading man, westerns, rat pack flicks and the Matt Helm spy comedies. He was a mainstay on the Capitol roster from 1948 through 1959. He left Capitol joining Rat Pack pal Frank Sinatra's Reprise label where he recorded from 1962 through the '70s.
