To describe Mr. Axelton's imagine a musician inhabited by equal parts Martin Denny, Les Baxter, Esquivel and Raymond Scott. Exotic and jazzy, his exotic sounds harken back to a simpler time when exotica was pre-psychedlic music. This post-psychedlic exotica stays true to tradition but adds a layer of dementia not heard in the original school. I will first take you through the warm and dry land of the nomadic people in the north of Africa where we are travelling by boat, visiting strange villages and different merchants, experiencing the exotic belly dancer named Salome
As the boat takes us further north we will enter the lushful nights of Florentine. Drinking wine and exotic drinks while we sit under the romantic Italian sky.
When the sun rises we will be in South America seeing the old temples of the Incas, feeling the rush from the big cities and hearing stories of the wonderful Cachita.
Due to our curiosity, we will go even further north, to Sweden. Here we will experience cold nights and warm summer days while the sun never sets. We Will be served Swedish mead by a big blonde girl with lovely blue eyes wearing braids and whom everybody calls Elin.
From Sweden, we take a giant trip to the warm and musical place of the Caribbean where we eat sugar-canes, having great exotic rum-drinks listening to the little Peanut Vendor while the sun sets.
Now we are off to the home of the great Tiki gods, following the big surf with the love of your life, the warm breeze touches your face and the last ray of sunshine colors the sky red and you turn to your love and say: "You belong to my heart" (Solamente Una Vez)...
